Agenda

In an era where English is omnipresent, many young adult learners remain passive consumers of the language—scrolling, watching, and listening without ever moving into active production. This session challenges the traditional assumption that a lack of speaking or writing is merely a matter of "confidence" or "level". Instead, drawing on research from Norton (2013), we explore how language production is deeply tied to identity, legitimacy, and audience.
