Agenda

Language teachers are often faced with a paradox: students tend to measure their own competence in English through their ability to speak it. Yet, creating

environments that encourage students to speak is cited by teachers around the world as one of the biggest challenges in this field. In this talk we will look at ways teachers can create an environment in which time for speaking is valued not simply as time for extra practice of previously learned material but as time in which new learning opportunities come to life.
