This session aims at discussing the role teachers play in raising learners’ awareness of what culture means in its broader sense, encouraging them to keep making their own discoveries in this field outside the classroom walls. The speakers will also offer tips on how to improve students’ intercultural awareness by means of meaningful activities suitable for different age groups and levels.


Ana Paula Botelho

Ana Paula Botelho has been a teacher for 24 years. She holds an MA in Professional Development for Language Education from NILE/University of Chichester and an MBA in Strategic Human Resources Management from Centro Universitário Celso Lisboa. She’s currently an Academic Coordinator at Cultura Inglesa in Rio de Janeiro.

Cristina Bordinhão

Cristina Bordinhão has a degree in Languages from UFRGS and an MBA in Marketing from Faculdade Unyleya. She is a Cultural Projects Analyst and in charge of the Culture+ Portfolio for Cultura Inglesa students. She holds the TESOL Anaheim, CPE, CELTA and Train the Trainer certificates.
